Ashland University senior volleyball players Brittany Snider (Olmsted Falls, Ohio) and Crystal Elliott (Canal Winchester, Ohio) have been named to the 2012 Daktronics, Inc., Division II Midwest Region Volleyball Team.
Snider, an outside hitter, is a first team selection. She will now be included on the Daktronics All-America ballot.
Elliott, a setter, is a second team all-region pick.
The Daktronics all-region team was selected by sports information directors in the region. The All-America team will be selected by sports information directors from around the country.
Snider leads the GLIAC in kills and kills per set. She is fifth in the nation in kills per set and points per set. Snider is third in career kills at Ashland and second in career attacks. This season Snider has 503 kills. She is a member of the All-GLIAC first team.
Elliott leads the GLIAC in assists per set (10.27/1.60). She's third in career assists at Ashland. Elliott was also named second team All-GLIAC this season.
Ashland is 23-8 and will meet Northwood on Thursday (Nov. 29, 2:30 p.m.) in an NCAA Division II Midwest Region Tournament match. The regional tournament is being played in Indianapolis.
