Ashland University's women's tennis team came into Sunday's (Sept. 8) contest riding a two-match win streak, but was bested by Walsh, 4-3.
All three points for the Eagles came from singles play after Walsh swept three doubles matches.
Sophomore Nikhol Pluta won a three-setter at No. 2 singles. She played from behind after dropping the first set, 2-6, then won a long second set, 7-5, before finally winning the match in the third, 10-8.
Juniors Camille Ringot and Anna Hart both won in straight sets at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively. Ringot only dropped three games, winning 6-2, 6-1. Hart won her match, 6-3, 6-2, to round out the Eagles' scoring.
The 2-1 Eagles will play next on Tuesday (Sept. 10) at Edinboro at 4 p.m.
