Round Of 306 Lifts Eagle Women To Third At FSU


A much-improved round of 306 on Saturday (Sept. 16) in the second and final round of the Bulldog Fall Preview in Big Rapids, Mich., lifted Ashland University's women's golf team to a third-place finish in the 11-team field.

The Eagles ended the weekend at 320-306—626. Grand Valley State was the team champion (302-299—601), while Northern Michigan took second (316-307—623).

Junior Monica Torda's second-round 74 allowed her to finish in the Top 10. Her 78-74—152 allowed for a tie for eighth individually.

Freshman Hannah Lemons ended in a tie for 11th at 76-78—154, while sophomore Krystal Hu shot up the board to finish tied for 22nd at 82-77-159.

Rounding out the Ashland effort were freshman Sophie Hemleben (tied for 27th, 84-77-161), sophomore Anna Schatschneider (tied for 44th, 84-84—168) and sophomore Logan Pottorf (64th, 90-93—183).
