Zak Lands Second Straight Academic All-District Honor

For the second consecutive year, Ashland University junior thrower Nick Zak has garnered a spot on the Google Cloud Academic All-District Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team.

As announced on Tuesday (May 28) afternoon, Zak was an All-District 4 selection in NCAA Division II, as selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Zak is a three-time All-American, finishing in third place nationally in the 2019 indoor weight throw, fourth in the 2018 outdoor hammer throw and sixth in the 2017 indoor weight throw.

This year, Zak has established new collegiate personal-best distances in the indoor shot put (17.27 meters/56-feet-8), outdoor hammer throw (63.96 meters/209-feet-10) and indoor weight throw (21.06 meters/69-feet-1¼).

A Criminal Justice major, Zak sports a 3.58 cumulative grade-point average through the 2019 spring semester.

Zak advances to the Academic All-America ballot, and the 2018-19 Google Cloud NCAA Division II Academic All-America Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team will be announced on June 26.
