Ashland University's men's golf team started its second spring tournament on Monday (March 25), playing the first 18 holes of the Findlay Spring Invitational in Lexington, Ky.
Leading the Eagle charge was senior Austin Kondratick, who finished Day 1 with a 2-over-par 74. Kondratick's day included three birdies in a four-hole stretch to finish 2-under on the front nine.
The Eagles' team score after the first day was 305, putting them 18th in the 22-team field. Indianapolis leads the team standings at 281, followed by Grand Valley State and Trevecca Nazarene at 286 each, and Wayne State at 291.
Maryville's Alex Locke is the individual leader through 18 holes at 4-under 68.
Ashland's men will return to the UK Big Blue links on Tuesday (March 26) for the second and final day of the Findlay Spring Invitational.
