Kondratick Finishes SVSU Invite In Tie For Third Place

Continuing to get his 2019 spring season off to a good start, Ashland University senior Austin Kondratick earned a spot on the all-tournament team of the Saginaw Valley State Spring Invitational.

On Sunday (March 17) at Georgetown, Ky., Kondratick shot a second-round 71 to end the tournament in a tie for third place at 68-71—139. Kondratick was the leader of an Eagle contingent which placed 15th in the 21-team tournament, finishing with a team score of 298-297—595.

Sophomore Ben Jones tied for 42nd place individually at 71-77—148, while junior Patrick Steffen was tied for 62nd at 78-72—150. Rounding out the team play for AU was freshman Brent Dillon (tied for 106th, 81-78—159) and redshirt freshman Luke Tanner (tied for 112th, 84-77—161).

Playing as an individual on the weekend was senior Cole Smith (tied for 99th, 85-72—157).

Ferris State was the team titlist at 291-276—567, followed by Grand Valley State (282-291—573), Hillsdale (285-291—576) and Drury (290-287—577).

Ashland's men will play at the two-day Findlay Spring Invitational on March 25-26 in Lexington, Ky.
