Coming off three consecutive wins after trailing by at least 10 points, Ashland University's football team will go back on the road for a third game in Michigan in four weeks when it plays at Wayne State on Saturday (Oct. 19) at 6 p.m.
The Eagles are 4-2 overall and 3-1 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, good for a second-place tie with Grand Valley State. The Warriors are 3-3, 2-1, and sit in fourth place in the GLIAC standings.
For the first time in program history, Ashland has won three straight games by exactly three points. The Eagles trailed 20-10 early in the fourth quarter before a 31-28 win at Northwood, then 10-0 late in the fourth before a 20- 17 Hail Mary-led victory at Grand Valley State, then 13-0 late in the second prior to the 30-27 Homecoming decision over Davenport.
