The Ashland University baseball team was ranked No. 7 in the second release of the NCAA Division II Midwest Region rankings released on Wednesday (May 2) afternoon.
The top eight teams in the region will qualify for the NCAA Tournament with the tournament champions of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic, Great Lakes Valley and Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournaments.
The Eagles (26-17) have scuffled of late, dropping their last six contests after being placed No. 5 in the rankings last week.
Ashland is trying to reach its third NCAA Tournament in the last four years.
One week remains in the regular season with the Eagles playing host to Ohio Dominican on Wednesday afternoon. Tiffin visits Donges Field for a four-game series this weekend.
