James Earns Place On Academic All-District Baseball Team

Ashland University senior second baseman Stephen James is a member of the 2014-15 Capital One Division II Academic All-District Baseball Team in District 4.

James, the 2015 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year, is hitting .388 with 58 runs scored, 17 doubles, four triples, 11 home runs, 47 RBIs, eight stolen bases, an on-base percentage of .454 and a slugging percentage of .713.

He also has a 3.81 cumulative grade-point average through the fall 2014 semester as an Exercise Science major.

James will advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later in May.

The 2014-15 Capital One Academic All-District Baseball Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
