The latest United Soccer Coaches (USC) Top 25 NCAA Division II women's poll, released on Tuesday (Oct. 14) afternoon, has Ashland University's women's soccer team in the No. 16 spot.
Going into a two-game Great Midwest Athletic Conference slate this week, the Eagles are 8-2-1 overall and 6-0-1 (first place) in the league – having gone 7-0-1 over the last eight contests. Ashland will play at Northwood (6-1-3, 3-1-3) on Wednesday at 7 p.m., then it is back to Ferguson Field for Senior Night at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 18) vs. Lake Erie (7-1-3, 4-0-3).
Through Monday (Oct. 13), Ashland leads NCAA Division II in corner kicks per game (10.91), and is eighth in the nation in scoring offense (3.18 gpg.) and total goals (35). Individually, sophomore forward
Sofia Divine is second in the country in shot accuracy (73.9 percent), and senior forward
Dani Hicks is tied for fourth in total points (25) and tied for sixth in total assists (seven).
