Ashland University's men's and women's tennis teams have been named to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team for the 2018-19 academic year.
To be eligible for ITA All-Academic honors, a team must be an ITA program, and have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.20 on a 4.00 scale. Ashland's women boasted a team GPA of 3.54, and the men earned a 3.25 GPA.
Seven women's players and three men's players earned ITA Scholar Athlete honors for the Eagles. To be eligible for a Scholar Athlete award, an individual must be a varsity letter winner, have a GPA of at least 3.50, and have been enrolled at their current institution for at least two semesters.
Junior Brianna Brdicka (3.72), senior Natalie Keron (4.00), senior Chelsea Myers (3.76), sophomore Hazuki Ogino (3.68), freshman Nikhol Pluta (3.62), sophomore Camille Ringot (3.66), and freshman Larissa Wieser (3.93) were Ashland's women's tennis ITA Scholar Athlete award recipients.
AU's men who received the ITA Scholar Athlete award were freshman Stuart Brdicka (3.92), senior Stanislaw Grzeslo (3.93), and sophomore Nathan Sims (3.67).
This is the third consecutive year that Ashland's women have earned the All-Academic Team award, while the men earned the honor in their first year since being reinstated as a varsity athletic program.
