AU Men Eighth In Latest Midwest Region Rankings

In the Week 4 NCAA Division II regional rankings released on Tuesday (Oct. 4) afternoon by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), Ashland University's men's cross country team has moved up into the No. 8 spot in the Midwest Region.

The Eagle men were ranked 10th in the Midwest Region in the USTFCCCA preseason rankings, and were ninth in the region in each of the first three regular-season rankings.

Five teams from the Midwest Region meet on Nov. 5 at Southern Indiana automatically will advance to the NCAA Division II national meet on Nov. 19 in St. Leo, Fla.

The AU men's and women's cross country teams will finish the regular season on Saturday (Oct. 8) at 11 a.m. at the Lake Erie Storm Invitational. The 2016 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships are Oct. 22 at Ferris State.
