Prior to the start of the 2016 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament on Wednesday (Nov. 16) night, Ashland University's volleyball team has moved up two spots to No. 6 in the third and final set of NCAA Division II Midwest Regional rankings.

The Eagles (21-9) will begin the GLIAC Tournament with a quarterfinal match at Kates Gymnasium on Wednesday at 7 p.m. against Wayne State (19-10). Ashland is the No. 3 seed, Wayne State the No. 6 seed, and the Warriors are the No. 7 team in this week's regional rankings.

The first two sets of regional rankings were released on Nov. 2 and 9. The NCAA Division II postseason selection show will be Monday (Nov. 21) at 7:30 p.m. on NCAA.com.

A 64-team tournament (top eight teams from each of eight regions), the Division II postseason will begin on Dec. 1, and the national championship match will be Dec. 10 at 5 p.m. at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D.

In the Midwest Region, automatic qualifiers come from the GLIAC, Great Lakes Valley Conference and Great Midwest Athletic Conference. The other five teams are chosen as at-large entries.
