Ashland University women's tennis beat Mount Vernon, 9-0, in its last match of the spring 2017 season on Saturday (April 1) at the Deborah Liebert Karl Tennis Complex.
"Today was our day," AU head coach Lexi Bolesky said. "It was great to watch the girls' hard work pay off and for us to get the win."
The three Eagle duos did not have a single point scored against them during the doubles portion of the day, all winning, 8-0.
On Senior Day, Ashland senior Meghann Fitzpatrick teamed up with junior Elizabeth Kidd in the No. 1 spot, freshman Allison Brooks paired with sophomore Kaitlin Snider and freshman Brianna Brdicka won with sophomore Chelsea Myers.
All six Eagles competing in singles swept their respective matches. Brdicka, Brooks, Snider and Keron all won, 6-0, 6-0.
Sophomore Ashlee Freeman contributed in the victory, winning, 6-3, 6-0, in the No. 6 spot.
Fitzpatrick capped off her career with a 6-0, 6-1 win in the No. 1 spot.
"We loved honoring our senior, Meg, today," Bolesky said.
The Eagles, made up of one senior, one junior, four sophomores and three freshmen, ended their 2016-17 season with a 1-17 record.
