Ashland University women's tennis lost to Saginaw Valley State, 8-1, on the road on Saturday (Oct. 8).
In the No. 2 spot, AU freshman Brianna Brdicka earned her team-leading second singles win of the season with a 4-6, 7-5, 10-8, win over Cardinals' junior Shea Donahue.
"Brianna really stepped up today to put a point on the board for the Eagles," Ashland head coach Lexi Bolesky said. "The girls continue to show improvement and desire."
Brdicka and freshman Allison Brooks battled in second doubles, falling 8-4 to SVSU junior Abigail Shonk and freshman Taylor McLaughlin.
"I'm very proud of this team and the culture they are creating," Bolesky said. "We are looking forward to getting back on the court tomorrow versus No. 1 Northwood."
UP NEXT: The Eagles will travel to Midland, Mich., on Sunday (Oct. 9) to take on the Timberwolves at 12:30 p.m. Northwood currently sits in first place in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
