AU Soccer Teams Earn Team Academic Awards

The Ashland University women's and men's soccer teams each earned 2016-17 Team Academic Awards from the United Soccer Coaches the organization recently announced.

The AU women's team recorded a team GPA of 3.35 last academic year. It was the 11th time the Eagles have been recognized by the United Soccer Coaches for their academic achievements. Head coach Danny Krispinsky is in his fifth season leading the Eagles.

On the men's side, the Eagles achieved a team GPA of 3.12 in the 2016-17 year and won their second academic achievement award by the United Soccer Coaches. The Eagles are currently in their second season under head coach Oliver Slawson after a three-year hiatus for the program.

Both teams play at Ferguson Field on Friday (Oct. 6). The women's team plays host to No. 4 Grand Valley State at 4:30 p.m. before the men kick off with Purdue Northwest at 7 p.m.
