Women’s Soccer Brings In 10 Recruits In 2017 Class

Ashland University head women's soccer coach Danny Krispinsky has announced the signing of 10 incoming freshmen in the 2017 Eagle recruiting class. 

"We're really excited to welcome these ladies into our program," Krispinsky said. "They are excellent fits for us as people, students and players. Versatility was a focus for our staff, and we were able to add players that can play multiple positions at a high level. This group has played at a high club level that will help make their transition to our program."

 

2017 ASHLAND UNIVERSITY WOMEN'S SOCCER RECRUITING CLASS

-Jackie Clegg is a defender from North Royalton, Ohio. She attends North Royalton High School and plays club soccer for Cleveland F.C.

"Jackie is a versatile defender, where she can play a center or outside back. She'll give us immediate depth at both positions. She's a tough competitor."

-Harlie Gregory is a forward from Cambridge, Ohio. She attends John Glenn High School.

"Harlie is a very athletic and fast-attacking player. She had an extremely successful high school career, where she set numerous school records and was all-state. She'll provide us with another attacking option."

-Abby Grzetic is a midfielder/defender from Oswego, Ill. She attends Oswego High School and plays club soccer for the Chicago Rush.

"Abby is a talented player that can play center back or center midfield. She has great size and athleticism that will provide us with a great presence in the middle of our team."

-Hannah Riddle is a midfielder/defender from Stow, Ohio. She attends Stow High School and plays club soccer for Everest S.C.

"Hannah is another player that can play multiple positions. She's smooth on the ball and plays the game with great composure. She fits our style of play and will provide another good distributor to our midfield group."

-Hannah Lee is a goalkeeper from Westlake, Ohio. She attends Magnificat High School and plays club soccer for Cleveland United.

"Hannah is a tough, vocal goalkeeper. She will compete for the position. She is a tireless worker and has played at a high club level, which gives her great experience coming in."

-Hillary Mihalik is a defender/winger from Avon, Ohio. She attends Avon High School and plays club soccer for Internationals.

"Hillary comes in with a ton of club experience. She will be able to come in and compete for a role as an outside back and a winger position right away. She's a tough competitor. We're excited about her potential."

-Hannah Simmard is a forward from Rochester Hills, Mich. She attends Adams High School and plays club soccer for Nationals.

"Hannah is a target forward with good size and a good finishing touch. She'll give us another option along the top line and is a danger on set pieces. Her height and goal-scoring abilities will be a great addition."

-Alexa Jacob is a defender/winger from Cincinnati, Ohio. She attends Seton High School and plays club soccer for TFA.

"Alexa will play outside back or winger for us. She's tough, aggressive and has the ability to get forward. The combination of her attacking skills and defending are an asset."

-Abby Lampe is a goalkeeper from Hamilton, Ohio. She attends Badin High School and plays club soccer for Warren County S.C.

"Abby is a polished goalkeeper. Her experience will help her compete for a spot right away. She has a great attitude, commitment and love for competition. She'll fit in extremely well with our program."

-Emily Mark is a midfielder from North Royalton, Ohio. She attends North Royalton High School and plays club soccer for Cleveland, F.C.

"Emily is a very technical center midfielder with an ability to go forward. She has an unmatched competitiveness and motor that is infectious. She'll be a spark to our midfield group that will compete for playing time."
