For the second time in two days, a pair of stat-sheet-stuffing games last week results in a major award for Ashland University sophomore guard Jodi Johnson this week.

One day after earning Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference South Division Player of the Week for the second time this season on Monday (Dec. 11), Johnson on Tuesday (Dec. 12) was named the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) Women's Division II National Player of the Week.

In a 120-70 win over Wayne State on Thursday (Dec. 7) at Kates Gymnasium and a 96-50 decision over Davenport on Saturday (Dec. 9) at home for the No. 1-ranked Eagles, Johnson went for 19.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 7.0 steals per game, while shooting 61.5 percent from the field and 83.3 percent from the free-throw line - all while averaging just 23.5 minutes per outing.

Johnson ranks second in the GLIAC with 19.8 points per game, and is the conference pacesetter in field-goal percentage (60.6) and steals per game (3.4). She is third in the league at 43.5 percent from 3-point range, fifth in assists per game (3.8) and eighth in free-throw percentage at 83.6 percent.
