In March, Ashland University's women's basketball team won the 2017 NCAA Division II national championship in Columbus.

In July, the Eagle women will return to Ohio's capital to celebrate that national title with Ashland alumni – and the Columbus Clippers.

Ashland head coach Robyn Fralick will throw out the first pitch at the Clippers game at Huntington Park on July 19 at 7:05 p.m. against the Buffalo Bisons. Fralick's first pitch will be at 6:40 p.m., and she will be joined on the field by members of the national championship team.

The Clippers are the Class AAA affiliate of Major League Baseball's Cleveland Indians.

The first pitch is part of Ashland University Night at the Columbus Clippers. Seating for alumni will be in Section 20, box seating at $14 per ticket, regardless of age. The ticket purchase includes a complimentary $5 in "Clippers Cash" for use on food, beverages or souvenirs.

All tickets must be purchased through the Clippers. To order, call 614-462-2757.

Ashland completed NCAA Division II's first 37-0 women's basketball season following a 93-77 win over Virginia Union in the national championship game on March 24 at Ohio Dominican University in Columbus. The Eagles scored the most points of any D-II women's basketball team in a single season (3,456), and will go into 2017-18 with the longest winning streak (37 games) of any basketball team, men or women, at any level of the NCAA.
