The 2016-17 Ashland University women's basketball team earned one more win on Saturday (March 25).

In the final Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division II coaches' poll of the 2016-17 season, the Eagles were the unanimous No. 1 team following their 93-77 win over Virginia Union in the national championship game on Friday (March 24) night. Ashland finished the season with its second national title in program history, and, therefore, its second WBCA poll championship, as well as the first 37-0 season in Division II women's basketball history.

Ashland was ranked in 17 polls this season, tying the 2012-13 national title team for the program record, and was No. 1 for the final 13 polls, breaking the program standard for the most polls in a row in the top spot in a single campaign.

Ashland now has been the No. 1 team in the WBCA Division II poll 26 times, and is 52-1 (.981) all-time when playing as the top team in Division II.
