Ashland University head men's and women's swimming and diving coach Ron Allen has announced the hire of Olivia Olesiak as the program's first graduate assistant diving coach.
"We are pleased to announce a new member of the Ashland University swimming and diving family," Allen said. "Olivia has had an accomplished Division I athletic career at South Dakota State University, and brings a wealth of competitive experience. In her fifth year at SDSU, Olivia assisted with the current diving squad while finishing her degree.
"Olivia is the right person to start the diving program here at Ashland. Her ability to balance athletic and academic success will help in recruiting a new diving squad."
Olesiak is a 2017 graduate of South Dakota State, and during her career with the Jackrabbits, she set program records in both 1-meter (275.85 points) and 3-meter diving (305.71 points), and was named All-Summit League twice.
In 2016, Olesiak earned honorable mention on the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team.
